How does it work?

“Gifts for Goodness Sake” are special gifts that change lives. Simply make your selection from the ultimate all occasion “Gifts for Goodness Sake" catalogue and you will receive a gift card to give to your family, friends or work colleagues. You will also receive a tax deductible receipt.

Your friend or loved one receives a beautiful card showing the chosen “Gift for Goodness Sake” and how this gift goes to someone who really doesn’t have much at all. For example, if you purchase an Organic Vegetable Garden, ICC will use your $12 tax-deductible donation to assist a poor mother or family with the establishment of a small vegetable garden. ICC will give a helping hand to those most marginalized, regardless of religious or ethnic background, bringing security and restoring hope.

Who gets the gift?

ICC has project centre in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and the Philippines. ICC also partners with other not-for-profit NGO’s to raise the capacity of whole communities and families. Many of the “Gifts for Goodness Sake” are used for the benefit of more than one person. If the gift of Agricultural Equipment is selected, for example, the whole village can benefit by increased food security, both for consumption and to sell. The gift of a Mosquito Net would allow funds to be used for interventions in regions where malaria is prevalent and treated nets can be provided. A Microcredit Small Business Loan lifts the capacity of the whole family in areas of health, education and income generation. After the loan is repaid, it can be lent again and again.

Where does the money go?

All the donations received from the “Gifts for Goodness Sake” catalogue are allocated to the projects providing the selected item. For example, if you select School Starter Kit, your donation will help to fund an ICC program where children are in need of primary and secondary education. Gifts are purchased locally at local prices, with the costs of gifts simply averaged out across the countries and projects that ICC operates in, giving good value for money. Occasionally, some gifts raise more funds than ICC can use for the nominated package. Please allow ICC to redirect your donation to another equally worthwhile gift. You will still get the same gift card that you have ordered. Incorporated in some of the projects that ICC runs are areas of intervention such as Immunization and health Care which from time to time allow Gifts for Goodness Sake to be used holistically for the benefit of the whole community.

Is the gift green friendly?

ICC has adopted ethical and environmentally friendly ways to distribute the “Gifts for Goodness Sake” program. Whether it’s a green-friendly solar Village Irrigation System or a Fruit Tree, ICC takes into consideration the eco’ impact on the community. An Organic Vegetable Garden gift allows for the instruction of good farm practice. As well as purchasing seeds and rich organic fertilizers such as animal and fowl manures, this gift will help educate farmers in rural communities about sustainable cropping and good soil and land management techniques. ICC works with local farmers to ensure that a high standard of best practice is reached. ICC empowers communities, strengthens families and secures the lives of children in many ways including taking an environmental approach to holistic development.
