Welcome to 'Dews Sweet Home' India

"Caring for orphans as though they were you."

General

To build in a child the capacity to contribute to the future development of their communities and to prevent them from a life of poverty, they must be able to access training in basic learning and life skills.

The learning programs for boys and girls include functional literacy and numeracey skills, vocational training and basic education that enables a deprived child to be able to access resources and opportunities that are available to other children.

Through these programs our children have the opportunity to more effectively determine their own futures and help provide lasting solutions to poverty.

Education Program Specific to India

The children attend the Flairs Memorial College, which is located next to the ICC Centre. This college is taught in the English language and has a very good reputation in India.

ICC also provides special tutoring for the children as many have come to us with very poor educational backgrounds.

Home schooling is also given to children when they first arrive to ensure they get good basic catch up education.

Currently we have children in classes from Grade 1 right through to Year 12.

Our first Year 12 graduate (pictured right) is currently studying Medical Laboratory Technology in preparation for medicine.

A number of others have completed Year 10 and have undertaken skills training and are currently employed in these areas.

ICC was very proud of one of their Year 10 students, Suvarnarathnan, who passed Year 10 with the highest mark out of her class of 63 students!
