Welcome to 'Light of Hope Children's Village' Cambodia

"Caring for orphans as though they were you."

General

In order to build in a child the capacity to contribute to the future development of their communities and to prevent them from a life of poverty, they must be able to access training in basic learning and life skills.

The learning programs for boys and girls include functional literacy and numeracey skills, vocational training and basic education that enables a disadvantaged child to be able to access resources and opportunities that are available to other children.

Through these programs our children have the opportunity to more effectively determine their own futures and help provide lasting solutions to poverty.

Education Program Specific to Cambodia

The school is called ICC School.

ICC School currently has 114 students from Pre-School through to Grade 11, with a total of 11 classes.

The students are aged from 5 years to 20 years of age.

All school-aged children from Light of Hope Village attend ICC School.

All children take English classes, generally taught by volunteers from English-speaking countries.

Classes for Grade 12 (final year) will commence at the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year.

Morning Flag raising ceremony

Each morning at 7 am ICC School staff and students raise the Cambodian flag and sing the national anthem before they begin classes for the day.
